I am a creative, confident front-end developer and video-editor. I specialise in building strictly validating, semantic, accessible websites using CSS, XHTML, Javascript and DOM Scripting.

• High profile pages on worldwide Google sites with an emphasis on low latency and high accessibility. Graphic design for print-work and video editing for YouTube.

• 2005 Annual Report. Data-heavy but with many accessibility enhancements and separate stylesheets for screen and print.

  Rolls–Royce

• Artwork, layout and back-end integration for a MAC video search widget. CSS and XHTML templating for main site pages and HTML newsletters.

  BBC Worldwide

• One of a number of HTML newsletters sent out as part of an ongoing campaign.

  Woolworths

• A small site including some nice progressively enhanced DOM scripted animation for the government's "Know Your Limit" alcohol awareness campaign.

  Home Office

• Graphics heavy site with full 32-bit transparency support for all major browsers. Built to very tight deadlines.

  Olay

• A complete HTML build based on an elaborate Flash movie, providing accessible content with a lot of photographic material.

  Superdrug

• An online portfolio for a graphic designer. To ease maintainance, a javascript handler automatically updates navigation to accommodate new content.

I use javascript to enhance interactivity and add dynamic content to webpages. Judicious use of DOM scripting can increase responsiveness and provide basic animation. I can also integrate with the more well known script libraries.

• An interactive personality test. Questions generated dynamically from easily updated arrays, with results and graphs delivered by DOM manipulation.

  Transactional Analysis

• A highly interactive menu gives access to the entire site content from one simple interface. A Flash intro loads in randomised video content on the fly.

  Two by Two

• A mashup site with a bespoke Javascript Content Management System which populates both maps and general site content with data from XML storage.

  River Cultures

• A digital watch which draws its time from the computer's system clock, but displays the ouput in an unusual format.

  Digital Clock

• Place holder images cut in time to a personally assembled soundtrack completes an animation test for a site intro.

  Urban Rites

• A slideshow mockup of a touchscreen kiosk. Used as a prototype for client approval.

  iTravel touchscreens

• An interactive 'sound toy' which uses ActionScript to control animation. Clever nesting of Movie Clips keeps the file size small.

  Music Flanger

• Optimised audio and images minimize download time and offers a rich media experience over low bandwidth connections.

  Sight Beyond Sight

• A technology-test for a 'Powers of 10' application. A variable array swaps out Movie Clips which are instanced on the fly.

  Logarithmic Universe

• A recent entry from David Hasselhoff's video blog, which I film and edit. This episode went on to receive over 40,000 hits.
