My background training was initially in orthodox Western Medicine for seven years, training to become a Registered Nurse thereby directly experiencing all aspects of medical, psychiatric and surgical conditions eventually specialising in post-operative neurosurgical and head injury intensive nursing care.
I have an avid interest in the educational process of students and so lecture part-time at a local University. Communicating the profound clinical effects of Chinese Medicine treatments to enthusiastically interested students gives me great pleasure.
Throughout my years as a practitioner I have received press coverage from a number of patients who were so impressed by the effects of their treatments that they wanted to publicly share it with others. Similarly I have received many personal letters from my patients thanking me for the improved quality of bodymindspirit as a consequence of Chinese Medicine treatment.
My experience in practising Chinese Medicine has been wide ranging successfully treating various diseases including arthritis, oesteoporosis, mild depression, post traumatic stress, trigeminal neuralgia, excema, psoriasis, asthma, digestive disorders, headaches, sports injuries, back pains, repetitive strain injuries (RSI), multiple sclerosis (MS), myalgic encephalitis (ME) and other fatigues syndromes. Also compromised immune systems from HIV and the effect of chemotherapy drugs, to those with a propensity to suffering from coughs, colds and flus. Areas of especial interest and experience have become those related to womens' gynaecological disorders such as amenorrhoea (no periods), dysmenorrhoea (painful periods), cystitis, thrush, menopausal problems and men's genito-urinary disorders such as low libido, impotence and reduced sperm counts.
I have been privileged to aid the process of conception for a number of mothers through correct Chinese Medicine diagnosis and treatments which improved their overall health of bodymindspirit with subsequent successful pregnancies and healthy deliveries of newborn babies. I have also used acupuncture to alleviate the inevitable side effects of high doses of hormone and fertility drugs. This has been a great joy for me especially with the subsequent treatment of these babies and children.
Babies and children are immediately responsive to treatment, especially in such conditions as common colds and flus and the usual array of childhood illnesses which can be life threatening when very high fevers occur. The use of a minimal number of acupuncture points can effectively reduce dangerously high temperatures with no side effects. In my experience needling a baby or young child is no more painful or intrusive than changing their nappies, for the needles used are very minute and delicate and are only briefly inserted.
My ideal way of working is to combine the use of both acupuncture and herbs. However the prescription of herbs or acupuncture only, can be equally as effective. Also for the busy professionals time is inevitably precious and attending regular acupuncture treatment is not always feasible or convenient but by taking chinese herbs the momentum of treatment can continue uninterrupted.

I trust I have given you some insight into my work as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine and that you may be interested to telephone and make an appointment for treatment.
