Tuesday December 2nd (7pm)
Docklands Sailing Centre
A chance for the local community to give feedback to our leaders and the authorities. This meeting is specifically for the Timber Wharves estate, but interested observers are welcome.
I since have been contacted by a representative from Southern Housing suggesting that this is only to be a small scale meeting, but I proposed that interested parties meet at the sailing centre as planned, we can sit and see what the great and the good are doing about the gangs around here and then reconvene at The Space for a coffee and a chat when they start talking about mending broken streetlights and such like.

Thursday 20th November (6.30pm)
Limehouse community meets to talk about initiatives taken against their gangs and delinquents. What works, what doesn't, suggestions for the future.
It seems we are not alone. Communities throughout East London are seeing a similar upsurge in youth crime, but thankfully there are a number of initiatives underway. Limehouse has a well developed Police Community Liaison operation, and the Isle of Dogs will be benefitting from the same from January 2004. It is key that residents continue to pay an active part in this, and information gathering and CCTV are tools that have proved valuable in Limehouse's fight back. It is good to see other communities taking a stand and turning the tide in their neighbourhoods too.
